September 2019 Parliamentary Election Results

The results of the September 2019 Parliamentary election are shown below:

Round 1:

  • BAINBRIDGE, Thomas (NDP) – 2 – 33.3%
  • THALLER, Erich (CPA) – 1 – 16.7%
  • DANIELS, Edward (LPA) – 1 – 16.7%
  • OAKFORREST, Milaw (NDP) – 0 – 0.0%
  • FREAYTH, Stephen (CPA) – 2 – 33.3%
  • None of These Candidates – 0 – 0.0%

Count of first choices. Candidates BAINBRIDGE, Thomas (NDP) and FREAYTH, Stephen (CPA) have reached the threshold and are elected. No candidates have surplus votes so candidates will be eliminated and their votes transferred for the next round.

Round 2:

  • BAINBRIDGE, Thomas (NDP) – 2 – 33.3%
  • THALLER, Erich (CPA) – 1 – 16.7%
  • DANIELS, Edward (LPA) – 1 – 16.7%
  • OAKFORREST, Milaw (NDP) – 0 – 0.0%
  • FREAYTH, Stephen (CPA) – 2 – 33.3%
  • None of These Candidates – 0 – 0.0%

Count after eliminating OAKFORREST, Milaw (NDP) and transferring votes. Candidates OAKFORREST, Milaw (NDP) and None of These Candidates were tied when choosing candidates to eliminate. Candidate OAKFORREST, Milaw (NDP) was chosen by breaking the tie randomly. Candidates THALLER, Erich (CPA) and DANIELS, Edward (LPA) were tied when choosing winners. Candidate THALLER, Erich (CPA) was chosen by breaking the tie randomly. Candidates THALLER, Erich (CPA) and DANIELS, Edward (LPA) are elected.

Winners:

Winners are BAINBRIDGE, Thomas (NDP); THALLER, Erich (CPA); DANIELS, Edward (LPA); and FREAYTH, Stephen (CPA).


The Conservative Party received the most seats, with two seats. However, this is only 40% of the total seats in Parliament, so is not enough to form a majority government. The New Democratic Party and the Libertarian Party both received one seat. There was also one vacant seat due to a tiebreaker between Milaw Oakforrest (NDP) and None of These Candidates (NoTC).

The Conservative Party is expected to form a coalition government with either the Libertarian Party or the New Democratic Party in the coming week. The newly-elected Members of Parliament will be sworn in on Sunday, 15 September.
